Founding Engineer – London – AI Start-up

Location: London (Hybrid)

Compensation: Open – salary + equity (no upper limit)

Atarus have partnered with a rapidly growing YC-backed AI start-up looking to hire a Founding Engineer. This is an opportunity to join at the ground floor of a company that’s already secured a strong seed round, launched with enterprise clients, and has ambitious growth plans over the next year.

You’ll be joining a small, senior founding team who are building a completely new software paradigm in the AI space, one that’s already seeing major traction with customers ranging from Series A startups to decacorns.

What You’ll Be Doing

Building and shipping features end-to-end across a modern tech stack
Working directly with the founders on architecture, product, and scaling decisions
Experimenting rapidly and contributing to a culture of innovation and ownership
Helping shape the technical direction and engineering culture of the company

Tech Stack

Python | TypeScript | Next.js | AWS | FastAPI | LangChain

You don’t need to know every tool, they’re looking for curious builders who love to learn fast.

Compensation & Equity

There are no preset limits on salary or equity. If you believe you’re top-tier, they’ll match it.

What They’re Looking For

2+ years’ experience in software engineering (or impressive personal projects)
Strong problem-solving skills and bias for action
A genuine builder mindset — someone who loves experimenting and learning on the fly
Based in London (or able to work onsite when needed)
