Our client is a well-capitalized financial market infrastructure firm expanding its technology capabilities. They are seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the development and scaling of high-performance trading systems in a regulated environment. This is a unique opportunity to drive technical execution, build a high-caliber engineering team, and work on next-generation market infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and scale the engineering team across software, infrastructure, DevOps, and cybersecurity.
Design and implement high-performance, low-latency trading systems with tight timing and reliability requirements.
Oversee the development of client connectivity layers and ensure system performance meets demanding standards.
Implement robust risk controls and operational safeguards while maintaining system efficiency.
Collaborate with the CTO to define technical strategy, roadmap, and execution priorities.
Ensure systems are designed with security, reliability, and regulatory compliance in mind.
Represent the engineering function in discussions with executive leadership, partners, and regulators.

Ideal Candidate Profile

10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including senior management roles in trading, exchanges, or high-performance systems.
Strong technical expertise in trading system architectures, low-latency infrastructure, and performance optimization.
Proven experience architecting and scaling systems capable of handling high volumes with ultra-low latency.
Experience in regulated markets or compliance-driven engineering preferred.
Hands-on, strategic, and technical leadership style — able to manage teams while contributing to technical design.
Excellent communication skills to engage with executive leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
