Required Skills & Experience

- 2+ years of experience in a technical support or data center role, working with Electrical and Mechanical Data Center Systems.

- Certification or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology.

- In-depth understanding of electrical and mechanical data center systems, including: Generators, transformers, electrical distribution gears, switches. Fire systems, UPS, ATS

Pumps, AHU, CRAH, CRAC. BMS, EPMS, and data trend analysis

- Strong hardware troubleshooting and issue resolution skills.

- Basic to intermediate system administration capabilities and experience with remote system administration.

- Ability to automate tasks using scripts.

- Skilled in project execution and planning.

- Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing practices.

- Demonstrated independent decision-making and innovation.

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Data Center Technician for a large enterprise client. You will be the primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and effectively pass down knowledge to junior staff. You have basic to intermediate system administration skills and can take on remote system administration tasks when needed. You work autonomously to resolve most support issues, execute small projects independently, and assist your manager with larger local projects. You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians and understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions independently, while also taking direction and paying attention to detail. This position is based in Montreal, QC and is a 6 month contract with extensions.

Shift Details

- Schedule alternates weekly: Week 1: work Monday, Tuesday, and Friday & Week 2: work 4 days (unspecified)

- Each shift is 12 hours and shift pattern is unique to the site

- First 12 weeks are daytime training

- After training: 84 hours biweekly

- Work holidays are observed
