Job Overview

An exciting and rare opportunity has become available to join our Community Childrens Nursing Clinic Team. The post holder will work as part of a team that provides nursing services to patients within the Community Childrens Nursing Service Outpatients Clinics across Gwent.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will always adhere to the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales (WAG 2011) and the NLIAH (2010) All Wales Guidelines for Delegation.

The post holder is expected to work within clinical competencies with supporting base knowledge. They will have achieved and demonstrated all the competencies required to attain a level 3 healthcare qualification in line with the All-Wales Skills and Career Framework for Health Care Support Workers 2015.

The post holder is expected to independently manage their own work/case load, undertaking tasks delegated by a registered practitioner with appropriate supervision in place.

The post holder will demonstrate an understanding of evidence-based practice and deliver care in line with current evidence, taking responsibility for taking action relative to an individual’s health and care in accordance with organisational policy and procedures.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifcations

Essential criteria

Level 3 qualification in health and social care/childcare

Experience

Essential criteria

Previous experience of working with CYP and those with complex healthcare needs

Desirable criteria

Experience of working in an NHS organisation.
Venepuncture Trained

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Knowledge and understanding of the need for confidentiality
Sound knowledge of safeguarding CYP

Desirable criteria

Knowledge of the Healthcare Support Workers Code of Conduct

Skills and Ability

Essential criteria

Ability to carry out instructions accurately and efficiently
Ability to travel to clinic locations
Able to work independently / as part of a team and cope under pressure

Desirable criteria

Ability to speak Welsh
