Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid – 3 days onsite/week)
Overview:
The Imaging Data Engineering Team supports imaging R&D by providing data sourcing, management, and validation services for algorithm development. We’re looking for a skilled Data Engineer experienced in data management, programming, and cloud technologies to help build and optimize data infrastructure for large-scale imaging datasets. You’ll work in a dynamic, collaborative environment with opportunities to contribute to innovative healthcare and AI-driven imaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Build, deploy, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and pipelines.
Design and manage relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.).
Develop clean, modular, and extensible software following SOLID and OOP principles.
Work extensively with Python for data engineering and automation tasks.
Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) and follow SDLC best practices.
Build and maintain REST/SOAP APIs and optimize backend performance.
Work with large structured and unstructured datasets, including medical images.
Use AWS cloud services for automation, deployment, and infrastructure management.
Collaborate on integrating ML and LLM-based technologies into existing systems.
Create visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or Plotly.
Required Skills:
5–10 years of experience in data/software engineering roles.
Strong proficiency in Python and OOP with SOLID principles.
Experience with AWS cloud (deployment, automation, infrastructure).
Hands-on SQL expertise – efficient queries, relational schema design.
Strong understanding of TDD, SDLC, and database performance tuning.
Experience with REST APIs, ORM frameworks (e.g., SQLAlchemy), and DevOps tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Excellent documentation, organization, and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of C++ or R.
Experience in image processing, computer vision, or digital pathology.
Exposure to deep learning or statistical modeling.
Hands-on with Terraform for scalable cloud infrastructure.
Initial 60-Day Objectives:
Get onboard and contribute to company’s Cockpit.AI internal project.
Deliver first milestones (epics) within prototype development.
Suggest improvements for the data engineering pipeline.
