Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Architect to join our team in Guildford. This is a senior-level position with high accountability and responsibility, focused on designing secure, scalable, and high-performing enterprise technology solutions. The role involves working closely with business and technical stakeholders to create repeatable architecture patterns, produce infrastructure solution designs, and ensure architectural assurance across multiple technology domains.

The ideal candidate will possess a broad understanding of enterprise technologies, strong communication skills, and the ability to bridge business needs with technology, service, and security deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop repeatable architecture patterns and infrastructure solution designs aligned with business and IT strategy.
Provide architectural assurance and quality assurance (QA) on peer deliverables.
Translate business requirements into technology, service, and security deliverables.
Identify technology risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with solution and integration architects to deliver end-to-end IT solution architecture.
Research and evaluate emerging technologies, preparing business cases and presenting recommendations to architectural governance forums.
Support mission-critical infrastructure designs across diverse technology stacks.
Contribute to technology governance, ensuring decisions align with enterprise strategy and compliance.
Provide advice and guidance to SMEs during solution implementation.

Required Skills & Experience:

Broad experience across enterprise technologies and prior work in SME-level technical roles.
Proven experience designing secure, high-performing, and highly available solutions.
Strong exposure to public cloud environments (preferably Azure) for solution design and implementation.
Hands-on understanding of core infrastructure technologies – Windows, Linux, Web, Middleware, Database, Security Gateways, and MuleSoft API management.
Strong background in IT Security and Risk Management within architectural roles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all business levels (technical and non-technical).
Experience in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial services) preferred.
Strong documentation, proposal writing, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage workload effectively.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

Knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools.
Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
Familiarity with contractual due diligence and vendor evaluation.
Relevant technical or business certifications (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL) preferred.
Degree or HND in Information Technology (or equivalent experience).
