DevOps Engineer
Contract: 6 months
Start Date: ASAP
Languages: French or Dutch and English
Location: Brussels (2 days on site, 3 days remote)
We are seeking a proactive and autonomous DevOps Engineer to enhance our CI/CD pipelines, DevOps infrastructure, and deployment workflows. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with key DevOps tools, excels in pipeline optimization, and can independently handle support, incidents, and improvement initiatives. The role also involves technical leadership, client-facing solution presentations, and collaboration with a specialized DevOps team to drive standardization and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
CI/CD & Pipeline Optimization
Maintain, optimize, and redesign CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Groovy.
Split a large monolithic pipeline into smaller, modular, and manageable pipelines.
Lead improvements to enhance build and deployment efficiency.
Deployment & Containerization
Manage, monitor, and optimize containerized applications on OpenShift and Docker.
Focus on improving ArgoCD automated deployment processes.
Repository & Artifact Management
Administer, secure, and optimize Nexus artifact repositories.
Lead Nexus-related improvement initiatives, including licensing planning and strategy.
Version Control & Collaboration
Collaborate with development teams using Bitbucket and GitLab for Git-based version control.
Support developers by troubleshooting CI/CD and DevOps-related issues.
Security & Monitoring
Integrate and maintain security scanning tools such as Snyk.
(Nice to have) Work with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
Team Leadership & Client Interaction
Provide technical leadership within the DevOps team.
Prepare and present technical solutions and improvement options directly to the client.
Contribute to team-wide efforts to standardize and optimize development efficiency.
Backlog & Operations
Manage and follow a Jira backlog effectively.
Handle incidents, report blockers, and communicate risks in a timely and professional manner.
Required Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with OpenShift, Docker, and containerization concepts.
Proficiency with Jenkins (especially Groovy-based pipeline configuration).
Solid understanding of Nexus repository management.
Experience with Git repositories (Bitbucket preferred; GitLab also used).
Familiarity with Snyk or similar security scanning tools.
Working knowledge of Jira for backlog and issue tracking.
Nice to Have
Scripting experience (Bash, Groovy, etc.).
Familiarity with monitoring/logging systems.
Knowledge of Camunda, Kafka, or ELK stacks.
Soft Skills
Highly autonomous and self-driven.
Strong communication skills for reporting issues and interacting with clients.
Capable of balancing developer support, incident management, and DevOps improvements.
Effective at managing work within a Jira-driven workflow.
