Job summary:
Our client, a leading organization in the financial and insurance services sector, is seeking a Senior Compliance Risk Manager specializing in Life, Health, and Annuity products. In this key role, you will provide independent oversight and strategic guidance to ensure business processes, communications, and product initiatives meet all regulatory expectations. You will help strengthen the company’s compliance culture by supporting the development and execution of a strong, future-focused compliance framework.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with life, health, and annuity products, along with a background in compliance quality assurance, monitoring, and testing. A strong understanding of regulations that govern health-related communications—such as data privacy rules and healthcare marketing standards—is essential. Familiarity with health insurance offerings, plan structures, and industry terminology is also required. Experience with or interest in AI governance is a plus as the company continues to adopt innovative compliance tools and practices.
This position requires working onsite four days per week and may be based in one of the following hubs: San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Colorado Springs, CO; Charlotte, NC; Chesapeake, VA; or Tampa, FL.

Key Responsibilities
Provide expert guidance to business partners to ensure projects, documents, and process enhancements align with regulatory expectations and internal policies.
Analyze compliance risks, identify root causes, propose strategic solutions, and confirm effective remediation.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional initiatives, serving as a project manager for compliance-related efforts.
Support the evaluation and implementation of new regulatory requirements by partnering with the appropriate stakeholders.
Communicate compliance insights clearly and effectively across teams and leadership.
Execute compliance risk management activities consistent with enterprise standards.
Serve as a subject-matter resource for colleagues on compliance-related questions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
6+ years of experience in compliance, risk, audit, legal, or related disciplines within the insurance, financial services, or similarly regulated industry.
Proven experience operating in a highly regulated environment.
Advanced understanding of compliance laws, regulatory expectations, and risk management frameworks.
Strong ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable business guidance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience mentoring or providing standards and guidance to team members.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience with life, health, and annuity products.
Background in quality assurance, monitoring, testing, or oversight functions.
Experience working with regulations governing health-related communications (e.g., privacy rules, marketing guidelines).
Knowledge of health insurance plans, benefits structures, and industry terminology.
Exposure to or working knowledge of AI governance practices.
