Job summary:

Our client, a leading organization in the financial services sector, is seeking a Senior Cyber & Digital Risk Specialist to join their growing team.

This role plays a critical part in strengthening the company’s cybersecurity posture, providing independent oversight of technology risks, and supporting key digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a second-line subject matter expert, advising stakeholders on cybersecurity and technology risk across the enterprise.
Evaluate and monitor cyber risks linked to new technologies, digital initiatives, and business changes.
Assess third-party technology providers and identify potential security risks and required controls.
Lead targeted risk assessments to uncover security gaps and validate remediation efforts.
Review and challenge first-line risk activities, including control testing, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
Analyze cyber risk data, identify trends, and produce insights to support leadership decisions.
Contribute to enhancing cybersecurity policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
Monitor industry and regulatory developments, assessing their impact on future risk exposure.
Support regulatory issue remediation and track progress to closure.
Prepare materials for governance committees and participate in risk discussions across key stakeholders.
Escalate significant risks to senior leadership when necessary.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Cybersecurity certifications (required); cloud security certifications (preferred).
9+ years of experience in cybersecurity risk management, consulting, audit, or similar functions—ideally within financial services.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory expectations, and best practices.
Experience supporting cyber risk oversight in second- or third-line functions.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
