Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The AV Engineer II is accountable for the comprehensive Audio-Visual infrastructure, overseeing engineering, design implementation, integration, and the provision of robust support and technical services. This role encompasses various AV Solutions, such as: Control System Automation, Room Monitoring Systems, Live Event Production, Lecture Capture, Digital Signage, Digital Sound Processing, Live Streaming, and Video Conferencing/Unified Communications.

Salary: $62,533
This is an on-site position. The selected candidate will be expected to work on-site 5 days on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities

AV Infrastructure: Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers AV infrastructure including hardware, software, and various configurations to support the AV mission for the campus. Make recommendations to existing standards and workflows in progressing AV technology use-cases.
Tier 3 Troubleshooting: Monitors overall performance of AV environment to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately. Serves as a Tier 3-level escalated support of the AV environment. Analyzes and defines vulnerabilities within AV equipment and signal flows and develop technology solutions independently as needed.
Commissioning/ Programming: Analyzes and configures both hardware and software related to complex AV/IT applications and systems for faculty, staff, and/or students. Edits and assesses configuration/ programming templates to customize a design/ control system program or DSP to a specific room or application. Provides a wide range of in- depth technical assistance and guidance to user-support staff.
Project Management: Serves as technical consultant to project coordinators surrounding AV room design. Generates functional system descriptions, block-flow diagrams and equipment lists to enable development of project proposals. Works with team to establish and improve processes and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree and two years of IT related work experience; OR a combination of six years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification is considered to be related training.

Preferred Qualifications

An AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification is preferred.

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
