Job Summary

Information Technology Services is seeking a technically proficient and solutions-oriented individual to fill the role of Digital Solutions Engineer. This role serves as the technical implementation specialist within the Digital Solutions and Global Client Experience team, working in close partnership with Digital Solutions Consultants to bring digital transformation initiatives to life.

The Digital Solutions Engineer focuses on designing, building, and implementing technical solutions based on requirements gathered by the Digital Solutions Consultants. While the Consultant focuses on client relationships and business needs assessment, the Engineer applies technical expertise to transform those requirements into functional solutions using the university's technology stack.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of digital productivity tools and platforms, with the ability to configure, integrate, and customize solutions that meet specific business requirements. They will collaborate with consultants to understand client needs, provide technical guidance on solution feasibility, and implement solutions that enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and improve the overall digital experience.

Areas of technical focus include:

Process Automation: Building workflows and automated solutions using Microsoft 365 Power Platform, ServiceNow, and other platforms to modernize business processes identified by consultants.
Collaboration Platform Configuration: Implementing and configuring Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other collaboration tools based on client requirements documented by consultants.
Digital Productivity Solutions: Developing digital productivity solutions using various tools and technologies to address specific client needs.
Technical Integration: Connecting systems and tools to create seamless workflows across platforms.
Audio-Visual (AV) Solutions: Designing and implementing technical AV solutions for collaboration spaces based on specifications developed with consultants.

The Digital Solutions Engineer translates conceptual designs into technical implementation plans, builds solutions according to specifications, tests thoroughly to ensure quality, and provides technical documentation to support knowledge transfer. They work collaboratively with other IT teams when more complex development is required, ensuring seamless handoffs and integration.

24/7 business continuity:

This role requires occasional availability outside of traditional working hours to address urgent business needs as they arise, including, but not limited to, responding to security incidents, supporting software deployments, resolving software issues or system breaks, and addressing other critical operational requirements. The ideal candidate must be proactive and adaptable, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations by promptly addressing any issues, regardless of time or day. Flexibility and a strong sense of urgency are essential for success in this position.

Other duties as required:

This role requires flexibility in performing duties outside of the primary responsibilities to support evolving business needs. The ideal candidate must be adaptable and willing to take on additional tasks or projects as required, ensuring smooth operations across the organization. This may include stepping in to assist with cross-functional teams, handling unexpected challenges, or contributing to initiatives that support business growth and success. A proactive mindset and the ability to pivot quickly are essential for thriving in this dynamic environment.
