We’re seeking a Senior Test Analyst to join our client’s high-impact IT projects in Brussels. This freelance opportunity is designed for a builder who thrives on ensuring software quality at scale, shaping the future of digital products that matter. As a Senior Test Analyst, you are the quality gatekeeper. Your expertise will directly influence the success of mission-critical IT projects, ensuring robust, reliable, and high-performing solutions. You’ll bridge business, technical teams, and users — making sure every release meets the highest standards and delivers real value. The stakes are high: your work will impact thousands of users and set the benchmark for quality across the organization.
What You’ll Be Doing
Analyze functional requirements and identify risks, translating them into structured, actionable test scenarios and cases.
Define and implement a test approach aligned with the overall test strategy, collaborating closely with senior test analysts and project managers.
Drive the preparation and execution of manual and automated tests across multiple test levels, ensuring comprehensive coverage and prioritization.
Validate software quality by analyzing CI/CD results and functionally reviewing deliveries to assess test coverage and product quality.
Track deviations, identify inefficiencies, and proactively propose improvements to processes and product quality.
Communicate test results and recommendations clearly and transparently to stakeholders and test coordinators.
Maintain accurate test documentation, process descriptions, and use cases.
Act as a connector between business, technical teams, and users, advocating for the value of robust test cases and influencing requirements through static reviews.
Coach and guide junior testers, fostering a culture of quality, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Technical Skills
Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar role
Thorough knowledge of test methodologies, tasks, and processes
ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification (a plus)
Experience with test management tools (e.g., Testlink, Zephyr)
Experience with issue and project management tools (e.g., Jira)
Experience with content collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence)
Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Cypress, JUnit5)
Basic knowledge of development practices and test paradigms (e.g., CI, TDD)
Basic knowledge of UML, Java, SQL, and version control (git/svn)
Language Proficiency
Fluent in Dutch and French (required)
Active knowledge of English
Other Requirements
Strong relationship-building and communication skills
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Demonstrated ownership, problem-solving, and impact-driven mindset
Ability to work hybrid (on-site and remote)
