Job title : Test Tutomation Engineer (Freelance)

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Duration: 1 year

Description:

A Test Automation Engineer is sought to support a strategic project. The candidate must hold a diploma in programming or another IT-related field and be trilingual in FR, NL, and EN, with ISTQB Foundation certification. Experience with databases and basic SQL knowledge is required. Due to the specificity of the missions, at least 2 years of experience in IPSS is preferred. Proven experience of at least 5 years in functional and integration testing, automated testing, and API or data testing is also required.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, basic programming skills (CSS, Java, C#, XML), version control systems, cloud environments, and non-functional requirements are significant advantages.

The candidate must be able to prioritise tests based on business impact and defect probability. Exploratory testing skills are also necessary.

Experience with agile working methods is expected, along with the ability to mentor junior or intermediate testers, raise team quality through testing, guidance, and attention to detail, understand the “Three Amigos” principle, show initiative, and demonstrate continuous learning. A strong understanding of testing principles and the ability to communicate them across the organisation is essential.

Solid practice in designing and executing Test Scenarios

Confirmed experience with Cypress
Confirmed experience with Cucumber for test writing
Confirmed experience with Karate
Confirmed experience with Postman (API testing)
Confirmed experience with Ranorex
Confirmed experience with Gatling

Programming & Technical Skills

Confirmed knowledge of Java
Confirmed knowledge of CSS
Confirmed knowledge of XML
Confirmed experience with JQuery

DevOps & Version Control

Confirmed experience with Git
Understanding of CI/CD environments (implied by automation stack)

Agile & Project Tools

Confirmed experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
