Job Specifications
On behalf of our client, Santcore Technologies is hiring an Application DBA (Production Support Engineer) to support mission-critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of Oracle database administration, middleware management, scripting, and production application support experience.
This is a hands-on hybrid role that supports environments across both on-premises (Exadata) and cloud platforms. Candidates are not required to meet every listed skill but must demonstrate solid experience in at least 4–5 of the key areas below.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and support Oracle databases hosted on Exadata (on-prem) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Design, develop, and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL scripts, data utilities (SQL Loader, Data Pump), and Unix shell wrappers for log analysis, automation, and data interactions.
Oversee installation, configuration, migration, and maintenance of Web and COTS applications across Windows and Unix platforms, ensuring smooth deployment in both on-prem and cloud environments.
Manage Middleware stacks (on-prem and cloud) including WebLogic, Tomcat, Java, and enterprise reporting tools such as SAP BusinessObjects, Power BI, and Oracle BI Publisher (BIP).
Apply Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) and other vendor patches for Middleware, COTS, and BI systems while maintaining system stability and compliance.
Develop and maintain PowerShell, Unix shell, and Windows batch scripts to automate administrative tasks and streamline deployments.
Deploy and migrate SQL, PL/SQL, and Java modules from development to production environments.
Implement and manage SSL certificates, private/public key pairs, and cipher suites in accordance with enterprise security standards.
Demonstrate working knowledge of SOA architecture, enterprise networking fundamentals (firewalls, VLANs, VCNs, subnets), and identity management systems such as LDAP, SSO, and Active Directory.
Perform daily proactive monitoring of database and middleware systems, responding to alerts and incidents as required.
Work Schedule:
Hybrid: 2–3 days onsite (Washington, DC)
Onsite Day 1 is mandatory
Must be available for after-hours support, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as needed for production incidents or scheduled maintenance.
