Job Specifications
Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a AI Engineer - LLM Integration & Agent Development with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 36-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay: $70.00 - $80.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.
Description
Core Skills Needed:
Python Engineering: Strong Python development background; clean, modular code design for data pipelines, API's and LLM integration
LLM Integration: Experience connecting enterprise or proprietary data to open-source models (e.g., Claude, or similar).
Vector Databases & Retrieval: Familiar with embeddings, RAG pipelines, and tools like Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, or Chroma. (Familiarity with those tools not required)
Agent Frameworks: Hands-on with tools such as: LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or OpenDevin for multi-agent orchestration and tool-use workflows.
APIs & Infrastructure: Ability to build Python API services that connect data sources, functions, and LLM endpoints.
Data Engineering Foundation: Experience preparing structured/unstructured data (SQL, document parsing, metadata tagging).
Cloud & DevOps: Deploying models or RAG services on AWS (or other cloud platforms); Docker familiarity.
Evaluation & Fine-Tuning: Basic understanding of model selection, prompt evaluation, and lightweight fine-tuning or adapters (ex: LoRA, PEFT).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Specific Requirements:
3+ years professional Python development experience
Hands on experience building and deploying AI or data driven applications
Working knowledge of LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
Familiarity with vector databases and AWS
