Title : linux Developer

Role : Calgary, AB

Position: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

Application Development & Maintenance: Develop and maintain robust applications specifically designed to run in Linux environments.
Performance Optimization: Implement performance tuning and optimization techniques to ensure the applications perform efficiently under varying loads and conditions.
Security Hardening: Design and apply security measures to protect applications and systems from vulnerabilities and threats.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate and deploy applications within the Linux ecosystem.

Mandatory Skills:

Linux: Strong expertise in working with Linux environments, including system administration, OS internals, and performance tuning.
Python: Proficient in Python for system-level programming, scripting, and automation tasks.
Linux OS Internals and Shell Scripting: Deep understanding of Linux internals, including kernel, processes, and shell scripting for automation.
System-Level Programming: Experience in programming languages like C/C++ or Go for system-level development and optimization.
Performance Tuning and Security Hardening: Hands-on experience with performance optimization and security hardening for Linux-based applications.

Key Skills:

Experience in Relevant Technologies: Familiarity with additional technologies such as Java, RPA tools, Power BI, and GIS platforms is a plus.
Troubleshooting & Debugging: Expertise in diagnosing system-level issues and debugging complex applications in a Linux environment.
Collaboration in Agile Environments: Experience working in Agile teams to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in Linux application development and system-level programming.
Strong understanding of Linux OS internals, shell scripting, and security best practices.
A background in performance tuning and optimizing applications for high-performance Linux environments.
A passion for working on low-level systems and tackling complex technical challenges.
