Job Role: Cobol EDI Developer
Duration: 6+Months
Location: Jackson, MS (Must Relocate to MS, Onsite work)
Our Client is looking to add a COBOL programmer to their EDI team.
What you will be doing:
COBOL Programmers are responsible for development, programming, coding of Information Technology solutions. You will be responsible for documenting detailed system specifications, participation in unit testing and maintenance of planned and unplanned internally developed applications, evaluation and performance testing of purchased products. You will be responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, as well as availability of the application and data processed or output by the application.
What you need:
Bachelor s degree
3-5 years of COBOL design/development experience in a Mainframe environment or equivalent
Experience and understanding of levels of testing, release procedures, coding design and documentation protocol as well as change management procedures
Experience developing strong test cases Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
Healthcare industry experience is a MUST
Job Summary:
The Core Systems Engineer is responsible for performing analysis of new and existing Mainframe applications systems to understand the impact of proposed modifications, including input/output requirements, information flow, and software requirements. Also, the incumbent is responsible for designing and executing appropriate documentation, testing, debugging and support processes in accordance with departmental policy.
Job-Specific Requirements:
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline
Required Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in the IT industry
Five (5) or more years of COBOL, CICS and DB2 required
Required Technical Skills:
Hands on experience with MFT Flows in GoAnywhere or another MFT (Sterling, Axway, MoveIT) platform
Hangs on experience with installation of MFT on Linux
Knowledge of FTP, SSH FTP, and FTP over SSL
Knowlege of PGP encryption concepts
Cobol Dev on Mainframe (JCL, COBOL)
Experience with C programming in Linux
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) - HIPAA X12 5010 (HIPPA 834,837,277,999,270,276)
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with customers, support personnel, application development personnel and management
Ability to work in a team environment with multiple team members, as well as productively as an individual.
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines with a strong attention to detail required
