Mainframe Security Analyst

£450-£500 p/d Inside IR35

Remote - 1 day per month required on-site in Welwyn Garden City

6 month contract

Looking for an experienced Mainframe Security Analyst to join a dedicated Mainframe RACF Security team. This role focuses on protecting critical mainframe environments, supporting security initiatives, managing access controls and ensuring effective security monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and action RACF access requests and changes
Support users with access queries and issues
Monitor daily security tasks, controls, and system alerts
Administer RBAC, PAM, and privileged access on the mainframe
Maintain documentation including runbooks, processes, and procedures
Support audits, evidence gathering, and remediation activities
Assist with incidents, projects and wider security initiatives
Analyse, design and implement enhancements to mainframe security
Perform testing for new security or system modifications
Manage and maintain RACF digital certificates
Collaborate with IT and business teams to resolve access-related issues

Required Experience:

Strong RACF and z/OS expertise
Experience with IBM zSecure (z/Alert, Command Verifier, Access Monitor, CARLA)
Skilled with mainframe tools such as JCL, REXX, CLIST, ISPF
Solid understanding of mainframe security principles
Experience with RBAC, ICFR/SOX controls, and RRSF
Strong documentation skills and lateral problem-solving ability
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical teams
Experience with digital certificate management
