Job Summary:
Senior Software Engineer supporting the Digital Assets platform. This role leads a pod of 4–5 engineers to architect, build, and optimize enterprise-grade Java microservices and integrate off-chain systems with Ethereum smart contracts. This position is hybrid/onsite position working 4 days/week in our New York City office.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a pod of 4–5 engineers, providing architectural direction and enforcing engineering best practices.
Microservices Development: Design, build, and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring Boot, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
Kubernetes Orchestration: Deploy and scale services on Kubernetes, managing configurations, resilience patterns, and runtime operations.
Smart Contract Integration: Integrate off-chain microservices with Ethereum smart contract workflows in collaboration with blockchain engineering teams.
Database Engineering: Architect and optimize Oracle database schemas, queries, and transaction patterns to support high-volume and secure financial workloads.
CI/CD Automation: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), ensuring high automation coverage and repeatable deployments.
Quality & Testing Governance: Establish and enforce code quality standards using SonarQube and build robust automated test suites (JUnit, Mockito, REST Assured, contract testing).
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, architects, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to ensure secure, compliant, and aligned delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
Java 11+ with expert-level Spring Boot and Spring Data JPA/Hibernate
Hands-on experience with microservices architecture (REST APIs, async messaging, resilience patterns)
Kubernetes deployment and scaling experience
Oracle database schema design, SQL/PLSQL performance tuning, and partitioning
CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and automated testing frameworks
Code quality and static analysis enforcement (SonarQube)
Preferred Experience:
Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana)
Financial services or regulated enterprise environments
Experience with digital asset platforms or blockchain-based systems
