Lancashire Constabulary is looking for a Vetting Researcher to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

To interrogate a variety of databases and documents in order to conduct research into applicant's and their family members.
To formulate accurate file summaries based on the relevance of the findings and to assist, as required, with vetting interviews and low risk decision making.
To undertake a variety of associated administrative tasks, process correspondence and accurately maintain associated records.
To conduct and process detailed vetting enquiries regarding both police and non-police personnel, covering areas such as professional and private life, financial affairs, associations and employment history.
In line with national guidance and local procedures identify, investigate and assess/evaluate any matter relating to an applicant and/or family member/associate that may present a potential risk or vulnerability.
To accurately and concisely summarise the findings of the research in individual reports/file summaries to be used to inform effective risk based decision making that is evidence based, proportionate and timely. This to include making recommendations and/or decisions on files as required and referring matters to the Vetting Team Leader or Vetting Officers as required.

Vetting And Medical

Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Management (MV) and SC Vetting. Please be aware there is a minimum 5 year UK residency requirement for Management vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
