Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the internship year. The Data & Analytics team is hiring a Quantitative Research intern.

The Data & Analytics team empowers the company to make smarter, faster, and more data-driven decisions. We partner closely with stakeholders across the business to develop robust data pipelines, build trusted datasets, and generate actionable insights through analysis, dashboards, and advanced modeling. Our work spans strategic initiatives, product optimization, performance measurement, and operational efficiency. We combine deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to drive impact at scale.

The Quantitative Research intern will join the Quantitative Research team under Data & Analytics. As a Quantitative Research intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced researchers and data scientists to support high-impact analytical projects that drive strategic decisions across the firm. This role is ideal for someone passionate about using data, mathematics, and programming to solve real-world problems in financial markets and business operations.

Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be:

Work on a summer-long project involving data analysis, modeling, or research, with clear business applications and mentorship throughout.
Collaborate with quantitative researchers, data engineers and business teams to understand and analyze large-scale datasets.
Build tools, dashboards, or models that generate insights or automate key research workflows.
Present findings and recommendations to the team at the end of the internship.
Gain exposure to financial products, internal platforms, and domain-specific challenges.

The ideal candidate has:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or related disciplines) and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the internship year.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in programming languages used for data analysis (Python and SQL).
Experience working with data, performing statistical analysis, or building models.
Excellent communication skills and eagerness to learn from feedback.

Proficiency using data visualization tools like Sigma, Tableau, or similar
Prior experience in finance or data science fields
