Role- IT Software Engineer
Location – Denver, Colorado, United States (3 Days hybrid role)
Type- 6 months of contract to hire
This is a hands-on technical contributor responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving software testing standards and processes, with a strong focus on automation. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate across teams, and a passion for driving quality and efficiency throughout the software development lifecycle.
Design, implement, and maintain robust software testing frameworks and standards to ensure high-quality deliverables across platforms.
Develop and document best practices, processes, and guidelines for software testing, including automation, performance, and security testing.
Lead and mentor team members in adopting new testing tools, methodologies, and practices.
Conduct hands-on testing activities, including test case automation, execution, and defect tracking for complex distributed applications and microservices.
Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement, encouraging experimentation and adoption of innovative testing approaches.
Serve as a subject matter expert in software testing, sharing knowledge through presentations, meetings, and day-to-day interactions.
Communicate technical concepts and test results effectively to stakeholders.
Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to ensure testability and maintainability of software solutions.
Monitor and report on quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Participate in organization-wide committees or projects to help define standards, processes, and guidelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, math, engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent experience
Eight years of experience with database design techniques/philosophies, modern distributed applications, and microservices
Technology or platform certifications (e.g. AWS, Microsoft)
Expertise in coding platforms/frameworks (e.g. .NET/C#, JAVA, OOD, OOP,
Five years of experience in testing framework and tools
Expertise in build and deployment tools - (Visual Studio, Git/Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, SQL Management Studio, Nunit, Ajax)
Eight years of experience of hands-on experience in software quality engineering including automation and manual testing.
Experience leveraging continuous integration/development tools (e.g. Jenkins, Docker, Containers, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and container automation) in a Ci/CD pipeline
Familiarity with modern UI development frameworks (Angular, React, Vue.js, ASP.NET MVC, HTTP, HTML, JS, CSS, Ajax)
Advanced understanding of software development and research tools
Attention to detail and results oriented, with a strong customer focus
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Technical communication skills and the ability to present information to all levels of the organization
