DevOps Tooling Engineer (Windows)

Location: Basingstoke, On Site 5 days per week Mon-Fri

On the project, this role will report into (and support) the Tech Lead (MSL) and work as part of a multi skilled agile team, including security, service and management where teamwork is paramount.

Preferably experienced at working in an agile, sprint-based lifecycle. Experienced with ideally both Windows and Linux operating systems.

Act as an evangelist and advisor on the use of DevOps tools and Automation technologies.

Your role will involve

•Reports to the Team Tech Lead (MSL)

•Leads the evaluation of the applications against the target operating environment to determine impacts and scale of integration activities, and support of the conduct of the initial security vulnerability analysis.

•Provides application deployment and integration services for a small set of existing 3rd party provided applications, operating on thick-client devices.

•Deploys the applications into the target-operating environment and integrates with other data sources and systems, according to the agreed designs.

•Collaborates with Team Tech Lead (MSL), Application Engineer (Design) Security Consultant, and Test Lead to ensure that the deployment meets the security requirements and is accreditable

•Responsible for the significant aspects of the technical implementation, delivery and assurance of the DevSecOps tooling.

•Leading Technical Implementation and design activities, making Design decisions and assessing options.

•Works with DevSecOps Tech Lead (MSL), Product Owners and Scrum Master to define/prioritise work and raise Risks/Dependencies.

•Works with DevSecOps Tech Lead (MSL) to ensure the DevSecOps implementation satisfies its requirements and ensuring it aligns to the Business Outcomes and security needs.

•Contribution to Planning the work for the team.

•Defines Support Approach working with Service/Support Team.

Your transferable skills and experience:

Key Skills

Significant experience in the Implementation / Configuration / Usage in a number of the following-

•Application Integration and Deployment, ideally with Automation technologies such as Azure Pipelines, Ansible, Powershell or Terraform.

•Experienced at deploying applications into a Secure Windows Server 22 environment.

•Experienced at progressing applications through a structured change, deployment and release process.

•Strong working Knowledge of Active Directory, PKI, and SQL Server.

•CI/CD Pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps

•Other DevOps Tooling experience an advantage, e.g. Key Vaults, SAST, DAST, SCA, Aritfact Repositories, Package Managers etc.

General

•Working in agile, Sprint based lifecycle, ideally SAFe.

•Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

•Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

•DevSecOps tooling and practices
