The Applied Policy and Economics Simulation ("APES") Lab is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing decision-making through multi-agent simulation models. Role Description

This is a 3 month remote internship role for a Software Engineer Intern. The intern will assist in designing, developing, and testing software components for implementing multi-agent simulations. Day-to-day tasks include contributing to back-end web development, writing efficient and maintainable code, debugging, and collaborating with the team to enhance system functionality. This role offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in software engineering and contribute to impactful research initiatives.

Qualifications

Foundational knowledge of Computer Science principles and problem-solving skills
Experience or coursework in Back-End Web Development and Software Development
Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines
Passion for research, policy analysis, or economic modeling is a plus
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

Compensation

$5,500 stipend to be earned at end of internship.
