BMO is currently sourcing for a Java Web Developer to support Capital Markets.

This is a fully remote 6-month contract role.

Role Overview

The Java Web Developer will support the Capital Markets line of business by writing, configuring, and integrating Java code that aligns with BMO's architecture patterns and technology strategy. This role involves understanding business processes and contributing to the development of scalable, secure, and high-performing software.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and configure Java-based applicationsSupport research and development of frameworks and standardsDecompose business requirements into functional design and codeReview and monitor code performanceEvaluate and recommend new technologiesAddress production issues and conduct root-cause analysisCollaborate with internal stakeholders to meet business objectivesMust-Have Skills

3-4 years of experience in web technologies or ITProficiency in JavaExperience with JUnit testing frameworkKnowledge of modern software development practicesAbility to code independently with minimal oversightUnderstanding of operating systems, deployment, and business processesStrong technical analysis and troubleshooting abilitiesEducation

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
