Job Title: QA Engineer (Contract)

Location: London – Hybrid

Contract Length: 6 Months+

Day Rate: £450 Inside I35

About the Opportunity

We are supporting a major global financial markets infrastructure and data organisation in a large-scale transformation programme. You’ll join a high-performing engineering group focused on modernising critical applications and data engineering components. This is an opportunity to contribute to complex, high-impact systems used across the financial services ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

Design and execute manual and automated test cases covering functional, regression, and integration testing.
Validate financial calculations, transaction flows, compliance logic and reporting accuracy.
Perform end-to-end data validation across ETL pipelines, databases, and reporting layers.
Conduct performance and load testing using industry-standard tools.
Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts using approved frameworks.
Ensure testing meets GDPR, SOX and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Log, track and triage defects while collaborating closely with product owners and business stakeholders.
Maintain documentation, test repositories, and contribute to continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

Strong experience designing and executing tests across multiple test phases.
Proficiency in Python for test automation.
Experience with automation frameworks (PyTest, Robot Framework, etc.).
Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar CI/CD tools.
Strong API testing capability (Postman, Requests, etc.).
Big Data testing skills.
Experience with Cosmos DB (Fabric experience beneficial).
Understanding of web technologies and browser automation tools (Selenium).
Strong SQL skills for data validation.
Experience delivering in Agile / Scrum environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

Experience using AI tools for test design and automation.
Knowledge of GDPR, SOX, and financial regulatory frameworks.
Experience integrating QA workflows with Git, ADO, or other tools.
Familiarity with QA practices in cloud environments.
Formal QA certification.
