Alberta Innovates is seeking to recruit a Technical Analyst with the Information Technology Services (ITS) team. This role will be based out of our Edmonton Research Park office and is eligible for hybrid work. This position is responsible for supporting and developing infrastructure services and solutions across cloud services, desktop management, network oversight, and software licensing. Additionally, the role involves coordinating and collaborating with vendors and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to ensure the effective delivery of essential IT services and projects.

Here’s some more information about the position:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Provide technical support and oversight for IT infrastructure, end-user devices, and desktop management.
Monitor and troubleshoot system operations to ensure performance, stability, and service continuity.
Lead and contribute to IT projects, including cloud migration, digital transformation, and service optimization.
Develop and implement processes for enterprise solutions, reporting tools, and data management systems.
Enhance disaster recovery and cybersecurity resilience by coordinating with the Cybersecurity team on scheduled testing, vulnerability management, and effective incident response protocols.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
Manage vendor relationships, including performance oversight, issue resolution, and contract reviews.
Drive continuous improvement through innovation, automation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
Demonstrate strong customer service orientation and proven ability to ensure client satisfaction through timely, effective support and relationship management.
Design and deliver enterprise-grade solutions tailored to client needs, leveraging approved tools, frameworks, and architecture standards.

Qualifications and skills we are looking for:

Diploma or Certificate in computer science, computer systems technology, information technology, related discipline or equivalent work experience.
A bachelor’s degree in computer science is an asset
5+ years of progressive Information Technology experience
Progressive experience supporting, designing and implementing services related to Microsoft Windows, MacOS, Android and iOS devices
Experience with Mobile Device Management tools
Microsoft Intune experience is an asset
Experience with cloud-based services, technologies and platforms
Microsoft Azure experience is an asset
Relevant cloud platform experience (AWS, Google Cloud) is also applicable.
Experience working with Service Now service management platform.
Experience supporting, designing and implementing services to support research focused lab-based environments
Experience with operational technology (OT) and systems is an asset.
Knowledge of IT architecture tools, methods and standard
Experience working in an enterprise Microsoft 365 environment
Certification in ITIL and /or COBIT Framework is preferred
