Finance Manager | Leading Design Agency: Start-Up in Scale-Up Mode | London | Hybrid

London - Hybrid working, 2-3 days a week in office.

Harmonic are excited to be leading the search for a newly created Finance Manager role (reporting to Founders & Fractional CFO) in a scaling business making huge waves in the design & creative industries.

This business have scaled in revenues by 400% in the last 12 months alone. They are moving out of 'start-up' territory and are forecasted to exceed £50m turnover in the next 18 months.

They are looking for a high-calibre Finance Manager who is excited by the opportunity to: work directly with the Founders, manage a small junior-level team and inherit heavy-hitting strategic finance objectives from their fractional CFO. The end goal will be to grow into their Head of Finance in the next 1-2 years.

The ideal candidate is most likely: working for a fast growth start-up or sub-£20m turnover business, a strong grounding of management accounts, finance operations (transactional) , reporting and process improvement alongside a strong sense of accountability.

The Role

We’re ideally looking for an ambitious, analytical finance professional with experience managing a finance in a scaling environment. In this role, you’ll be an integral part of their ongoing growth journey and help to frame this next phase of development.

Responsibilities:

Produce monthly management accounts
Partner with the Founders and senior leadership team to provide strategic financial insight
Drive process automation and improve efficiency across finance and operations
Built, mentor, and develop a small but high-performing finance team
Analyse product profitability, pricing strategies, and cost management
Oversee all financial operations including accounts payable, billing, cash flow forecasting, and budgeting
Produce monthly and quarterly financial statements
Manage and liaise with external advisers on VAT for international transactions
Lead the annual accounts production process and liaise with external auditors
Ensure effective management of the company’s cash balances

What our client needs to see:

A qualified Accountant or late-stage studier.
Prior broad ownership of day-to-day finance and month end reporting as solo-finance lead or as part of a small team.
Led Finance (or a high contribution) in a business that went through sizeable growth
A clean, composed communicator who can work well with Founders and senior leaders

A bonus if you have:

Experience in advertising, agency, furniture, architecture, interiors creative or design services
Experience with multi-entity finance
Experience with WIP accounting
Systems savvy with exposure to Xero

Location: London, Hybrid 2-3 days a week in central office

Salary: £55k - £65k (Flex to £70k for more experienced candidates)

Start Date: Flexible
