Our client is looking for a talented Front End Developer who will design, develop, and maintain intuitive, performant, and secure web applications used by investment, portfolio management, and operations teams. You will work closely with backend engineers and investment analysts to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable user interfaces. Position Title: Front End Developer
Location: Downtown Toronto, 4 days on site
Role-Specific Accountabilities:
Be an owner – take full responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering core frontend features for our in-house private equity SaaS platforms and data analytics tools.
Become a product expert in private equity workflows, portfolio monitoring, and investment analysis through close collaboration with investment teams and end users.
Build without prior art – design and implement innovative, intuitive dashboards and financial interfaces where no pre-existing templates exist, setting the UI/UX standard for our internal tools.
Own critical system components – take complex requirements involving multi-layered financial data and turn them into performant, scalable, and secure frontend solutions.
Partner with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to make early, high-impact decisions on architecture, data flows, and feature priorities.
Integrate with real-time and AI-powered analytics to give investment professionals an edge in deal sourcing, valuation, and portfolio performance tracking.
Adapt and innovate in a fast-paced environment—wear multiple hats to address challenges across UI, data visualization, API integration, and user workflows.
Education, Experience & Capabilities:
3–5+ years of professional experience building production-grade web applications.
Strong proficiency in React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
Experience with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, Recoil, etc.).
Skilled in data visualization tools like Recharts, D3.js, or Highcharts.
Proficiency in CSS frameworks (TailwindCSS, CSS-in-JS, etc.) and component libraries (Radix UI, Shadcn/ui, MUI, Ant Design).
Demonstrated awareness of best practices in UI architecture and development
Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to analyze complex problems, propose innovative solutions, and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Leadership and teamwork: Proven experience in leading software development projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
