Job Title: Senior Java/J2EE Developer (Hybrid)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)

Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Java/J2EE Developer to perform application development, enhancement, maintenance, and support for multiple enterprise web-based systems. The role includes working on portal applications, workflow management, eligibility services, document services, and related social service applications. This position requires full SDLC participation, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across teams in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
Perform development, enhancement, maintenance, and support for various enterprise web applications.
Develop, enhance, and maintain J2EE/Portal applications within a Service-Oriented Architecture using Agile methodologies.
Participate in requirements analysis, design (high-level & detailed), development, testing, and deployment of application components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
Create and maintain technical and design documentation as needed.
Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem resolution.
Analyze software for configuration and performance tuning opportunities.
Develop and maintain data and process models.
Use modern testing methods to ensure application quality and reliability.
Provide technical support during testing and implementation phases.
Participate in design, code, and test walkthroughs to contribute to technical standards and requirements.
Support production operations by resolving defects, improving reliability, and optimizing performance.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (required).
Minimum Experience Requirements
8 years – Server-side/Web Services development on the J2EE platform for enterprise-class applications.
8 years – Experience working across all phases of the SDLC.
8 years – Development experience with J2EE Application Servers, Authentication & Authorization, and Caching strategies.
8 years – Hands-on programming with:
Java, J2EE
REST/SOAP web services
HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS
Angular, Typescript
Spring
JSON, XML
JWT, OAuth
NPM, Maven
OpenAPI v3
Postman, ReadyAPI
Mulesoft or similar technologies
8 years – Experience building REST services including security implementations (JWT, OAuth, etc.).
8 years – Experience developing reusable, testable modules and managing enterprise-level web services end-to-end.
Preferred Skills
3 years – Experience with JBoss or IBM WebSphere Application Server.
3 years – Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum preferred).
3 years – Experience with CI/CD methodologies and containerized deployments.
3 years – Experience working with web applications built for cloud platforms.
3 years – Test-driven development using frameworks such as Karma, Jasmine, Selenium.
Additional Information
Hybrid schedule: 2 days onsite per week.
May require occasional work outside normal business hours.
