Job Specifications
The Software Engineer 3 will support HHSC’s Social Services Applications initiatives and will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise-level J2EE applications across the HHSC SOA environment. The role includes hands-on development, debugging, system analysis, performance tuning, and technical documentation.
All work products are considered works made for hire and the selected candidate must pass required background checks.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain J2EE/Portal applications (State Portal, Workflow, Eligibility Services, Family Violence Program, Enterprise Document Services, ECM, Document Center, Call Center Inquiry, etc.)
Participate in all SDLC phases: requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment
Conduct system analysis, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and performance tuning
Create and maintain technical/design documentation and process models
Develop reusable, testable modules for enterprise-level applications
Provide application support within SOA platform environments
Work collaboratively across teams and support testing and implementation
Other technical duties as assigned
