On behalf of the UK Department of Health and Social Care, GMG manages important components of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR): the NIHR Research Coordinating Centre and the NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure (NOCRI). The NIHR is a large, multi-faceted and nationally distributed organisation funded through the Department of Health and Social Care. Together, NIHR people, facilities and systems represent the most integrated clinical and social care research system in the world, driving research from bench to bedside for the benefit of patients and the economy.

Other UK based GMG customers include NHS England - for the delivery of the Small Businesses Research Initiative (SBRI) Healthcare, the NHS Cancer Programme Open Innovation Call and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health and Care Award - and Health Care Research Wales, for the delivery of a new Integrated Health and Care Research Funding Scheme.

Job Description

GMG is looking for an experienced Project Manager to contribute project management expertise and support to GMG’s data migration activities. This will be a full-time, fixed-term position for an initial period of up to 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate the capture of diverse data requirements across various Programme Teams
Engage and involve key stakeholder groups
Refine data migration project plans and breakdown into tasks
Allocate tasks and track progress against the data migration plan, ensuring the project sticks to schedule while maintaining an appropriate scope of work
Organise and chair meetings and workshops
Develop a clear communication plan and corresponding materials
Maintaining a query log and disseminate answers
Identify, log and actively manage project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies (RAID), maintaining an up-to-date RAID log and escalating where appropriate
Other project management support as required

Qualifications

Candidate Profile

Required Criteria:

Proven experience managing complex, multifaceted projects, including end-to-end data migration initiatives
Strong understanding of SQL principles and relational data structures
Demonstrated ability to manage and influence diverse stakeholders at all organisational levels
Clear evidence of advanced problem solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex project challenges and deliver practical, effective solutions
Solid understanding of database design principles and the technical activities required to plan and execute data migrations
Demonstrable hands on experience using Jira for project tracking and delivery management
Experience working within both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, including hybrid environments

Desired Criteria

Strong understanding of grant management systems, including the processes and workflows involved in administering grants
Experience or knowledge of systems used for the management of grants across the full grant lifecycle
Demonstrated understanding of complex data migration projects, including data mapping, validation, and reconciliation activities
Experience using data analysis and visualisation tools such as Tableau and Alteryx

Additional Information

Compensation, Benefits & Working Arrangements:

Salary: £40,300 to £42,600 (more for an exceptional candidate)

Location: Twickenham, London / Hybrid working model

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract 6 months

Working Hours: 37.5 hour per week

Annual Leave: 25 days, plus UK public holidays
