Role Description
We are seeking a Senior DevSecOps / Platform Engineer to help build and maintain secure, automated infrastructure for our healthcare and federal-facing platforms. This role focuses on Infrastructure-as-Code, system hardening, cloud infrastructure engineering, and security automation.
You will work across cloud and on-prem environments to improve reliability, automate configuration and compliance workflows, enhance our CI/CD pipelines, and support our modernization initiatives. This is a hands-on, impactful role with direct influence on our security posture and platform architecture.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and other IaC tools
Automate configuration, system hardening, and compliance checks across Linux-based environments
Support secure CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure deployments
Improve platform reliability, scalability, monitoring, and observability
Integrate security best practices into engineering workflows (DevSecOps mindset)
Collaborate with engineering and compliance teams to operationalize security and regulatory requirements
Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and Linux system-level issues
Support containerized workloads and image-building workflows (Packer, Docker, Kubernetes tools)
Note: Additional responsibilities may involve supporting security automation and compliance workflows, depending on candidate experience.
Qualifications
Required:
U.S. Citizen (due to work with regulated environments)
5+ years experience in DevOps / DevSecOps / SRE / Platform engineering roles
Strong proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code, especially Terraform
Deep hands-on Linux experience (system administration + hardening)
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Packer, or similar
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and secure deployment patterns
Strong understanding of networks, security controls, and system reliability
Excellent troubleshooting skills and an ownership mindset
Preferred:
Experience with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., STIGs, RMF, CIS benchmarks)
Familiarity with tools like OpenSCAP, Vault, Kustomize/Helm, or container build workflows
Background with SIEM/SOAR, cloud security, or automated compliance pipelines
Experience in healthcare, defense, or other regulated industries
