Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and intellectually curious Research Assistant to support research projects, data collection, analysis, and report preparation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep diving into information, working with data, and contributing to meaningful research outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Data Collection
Conduct literature reviews, academic searches, and background research
Collect data from surveys, interviews, online databases, or field activities
Organize, verify, and maintain research datasets
Assist with qualitative or quantitative data gathering as required
Analysis & Interpretation
Support data cleaning, coding, and preparation for analysis
Conduct basic statistical analysis or thematic analysis (depending on project)
Summarize key findings and identify trends or insights
Contribute to visualizations, charts, and tables for presentations or reports
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare research notes, summaries, and annotated bibliographies
Assist in drafting research papers, briefs, or project reports
Maintain proper documentation, citations, and reference lists
Help ensure research outputs meet ethical and methodological standards
Project Support
Coordinate meetings, schedules, and communication among team members
Track project timelines and tasks to support smooth execution
Prepare materials and resources for workshops, interviews, or data collection
Support submission processes for ethics review, grants, or publications (if applicable)
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Public Policy, Psychology, Business, Health Sciences, Statistics, Engineering, or related discipline
0–2 years experience in research, data analysis, or academic projects (coursework, labs, or internships count)
Skills
Strong research and analytical abilities
Excellent writing and documentation skills
Comfort working with large amounts of information
Proficiency with MS Office/Google Workspace
Experience with research tools (SPSS, R, Python, NVivo, Excel, etc.) is an asset
