2 year contract for a Java/AWS Full Stack Developer role with a leading client in Peoria, IL! This is a fully onsite role with optional benefits (medical/dental/vision insurance). APPLY NOW IF INTERESTED!

Title: Java/AWS Full Stack Developer

Location: Peoria, IL

Workplace type: Fully onsite (M-F regular 40 hour work week)

Type: Contract

Pay: range $56-59.75/hour on w2

Length: 24months- possibility to extend

Screenings: no tech, full panel drug and background once hired

+optional benefits, long term contract with ability to extend or convert to full time

Must haves:

Bachelor’s degree preferred with 7-8+ years experience in this capacity. ( this goes for Masters degree as well)
NO degree, they must have a minimum of 10+ years experience
8+ years of experience in full stack development.
Strong proficiency in Java, Angular, and AWS.
Experience with PostgreSQL, DB2, and Snowflake.
PostgreSQL database experience
Excellent communication and collaboration skills — “Swiss Army knife” type who can manage bottlenecks and coordinate across teams under tight deadlines

(Desired)

Familiarity with Snaplogic, Qlik, and Salesforce integrations.
Experience with Kafka, Docker, and serverless architectures.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.

Job Title: Full Stack Developer

Job Description

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade applications supporting the clients digital operations and product quality initiatives. You’ll work across the full stack—from Angular-based frontends to Java microservices and AWS cloud infrastructure—driving innovation and mentoring junior developers

Project Overview

Initiative: Parts Pricing Transformation

Transitioning from legacy systems to a custom Java/AWS application
Focused on modernizing architecture and improving performance/scalability

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain full stack applications (approx. 70% backend / 30% frontend)
Frontend: Angular
Backend: Java, AWS, REST APIs
Database: PostgreSQL (required); DB2 (nice to have); Snowflake (bonus)
Cloud/Monitoring: CloudWatch, SageMaker (nice to have)
Participate in code reviews, testing, bug resolution, and quality improvements
Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to understand business needs
Contribute to architectural design discussions and technical strategy

Typical task breakdown:

Architecture & Development: Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and serverless functions on AWS (e.g., Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, S3, Cognito).
Develop responsive UI components and ensure cross-browser compatibility.
Cloud & DevOps: Deploy and monitor applications using AWS CloudWatch, Amazon EMR, and SageMaker for asynchronous inference.
Integrate CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Git, and SonarQube.
Collaboration & Leadership: Lead technical discussions and code reviews.
Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in software engineering.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, product owners, and business analysts.

Interaction with team: Current team is 7 folks, working with business partners as well.
