Consultant - competitive salary - Paris, France (hybrid)
Our client, a leading economics consultancy with a strong presence across Europe, is looking to add a Consultant to its Energy Practice in Paris. The firm tackles some of the most complex and high-impact questions facing governments, businesses, and society, helping organisations analyse and understand their markets, design effective strategies, and make decisions grounded in sound economic principles.
Role
This role is part of a team that advises governments, regulators, and energy companies on key energy and environmental economics issues, spanning policy, regulation, valuation, and competition. The team is recognised for its leadership in these areas, delivering expert, evidence-based advice that shapes effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement analytical approaches to address complex energy market and regulatory challenges
Apply economic theory to real-world issues, developing practical and data-driven frameworks
Manage significant workstreams, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery of outputs
Lead client engagement — from project scoping and presenting findings to maintaining strong, long-term relationships
Coach and support colleagues to deliver high-quality analysis and foster their professional growth
Key Skill
A strong background in energy economics, ideally gained within a consultancy environment (experience within a regulator or energy company will also be considered)
Proven experience in a relevant professional role, including mentoring or supporting junior team members
Excellent project management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence clients effectively.
Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement to deliver practical, value-adding solutions
Advanced data and analytical capabilities
Fluency in French
Broader experience and a willingness to contribute to adjacent practice areas such as telecoms and transport when required
