Java Developer – 12-Month Contract – Tier 1 Banking – Glasgow - Onsite 5 days

We’re building a team of Java Developers who are passionate about solving business challenges through innovation and engineering excellence. This is a long term contract with Java 17, Microservices, Kubernetes and Prometheus at its core, we are looking for driven developers who are ready to make an impact.

As a valued member of our Software Engineering Group, you’ll apply your expertise across the software development lifecycle, collaborating with stakeholders daily to deliver cutting-edge solutions. What You’ll Bring

Java 17 (using Spring technology stack)
Strong understanding of micro-service design patterns
Proficiency in database SQL and data modelling
Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
Working proficiency with developmental toolsets
Experience in middleware application development
Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes
Experience in monitoring/managing production applications (e.g., Prometheus, Dynatrace)
Exposure to file transfer protocols
Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
Understanding of the Full SDLC such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement
Exposure to cloud-native development
