Security Consultant – Contract Role

Location: London (Hybrid - 4 days per week onsite)

Contract Length: 6 months initially

Day Rate: £420 (Inside IR35)

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Security Consultant to lead and accelerate their Information Protection Programme. This is a critical initiative involving technology, process, and people-related changes to strengthen information protection controls.

Key responsibilities include:

Driving forward the information protection programme and preparing required documentation and presentations.
Overseeing multiple projects within the programme, including:
Data Leakage Prevention (DLP)
Data Identification & Classification
Data Retention
Supporting the development of DLP response and investigation processes for suspected data leaks.
Assisting in the creation and update of security governance documentation, including Data Security Standards.

Your Profile

Essential Skills & Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
Certifications (Preferred): CISSP or CISM.
Strong knowledge of data leakage prevention technology.
Hands-on experience deploying or enhancing DLP controls (technology, people, and process).
Experience implementing information classification controls across a Microsoft estate.
Familiarity with Microsoft technologies such as Azure Information Protection and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (MDCA).
Awareness of data privacy and legal considerations when deploying security controls.
Proven ability to drive projects forward independently.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
