Cybersecurity Architect (Zero Trust & GRC Strategy)

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid - 3 Days On-Site / Loop or Rosemont) Type: Direct Hire Salary: $180,000 – $220,000 + Bonus

The Opportunity

Our client, a Fortune 500 / Major Insurance Provider, is overhauling their security posture to meet evolving 2026 regulatory standards. We are looking for a Cybersecurity Architect who can move beyond "perimeter defense" and design a robust Zero Trust Architecture.

This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the CISO. You won't just be managing firewalls; you will be the lead designer for how identity, data, and infrastructure intersect safely in a multi-cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

Zero Trust Design: Lead the implementation of Zero Trust principles across the enterprise, focusing on Identity and Access Management (IAM) and micro-segmentation.
GRC Leadership: Ensure all architectural designs meet the latest SEC cybersecurity disclosure rules, SOC2, and HIPAA/HITRUST (if applicable) standards.
Cloud Security: Secure complex hybrid-cloud environments (Azure/AWS), utilizing CASB and SASE solutions.
Vulnerability Management Strategy: Design the framework for automated threat detection and response (SIEM/SOAR) rather than just monitoring the dashboard.
Executive Liaison: Present security roadmaps and "Risk Posture" reports to the Board of Directors and executive leadership.

Technical Requirements

Experience: 8+ years in Cybersecurity with at least 3 years in a lead Architect capacity.
Certifications: CISSP-ISSAP, CISM, or CCSP are highly preferred.
Tech Stack: Deep experience with Okta/Ping, Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks, and Cloud Native Security tools.
Local Presence: Must be able to participate in on-site tabletop exercises and strategy sessions at the Chicago HQ.
