About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Engineer to spearhead the development of our mobile application builder, a key initiative for 2025 that aims to expand Bubble’s capabilities into native iOS and Android app creation. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing the mobile development infrastructure, including deployment pipelines for seamless publishing to the Apple App Store and Google Play. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including product, design, and support—to ensure a consistent, high-quality user experience across web and mobile platforms. Your leadership will involve mentoring engineering team members, fostering technical excellence, and collaborating with executive leadership to define strategic roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and execute effectively. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape Bubble’s mobile product, opening new markets and significantly impacting our business growth.
Qualifications
8+ years of industry experience as a software engineer, preferably within high-growth startup environments
Proficiency in building applications with React Native (expertise preferred, but not mandatory)
Strong experience in designing and leading technical projects and solutions
Exceptional coding skills with a track record of mentoring and leading engineering teams
Experience with frontend technologies such as Typescript, SolidJS, and React Native
Knowledge of data and AI workflows, including JSON-based app representations and proprietary datasets
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges

Responsibilities
Drive the design, development, and implementation of Bubble’s mobile application builder
Architect and optimize deployment pipelines for publishing apps to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, integrating with existing infrastructure
Collaborate with product, design, and support teams to deliver a seamless and high-quality user experience across web and mobile platforms
Mentor and coach engineering team members to enhance their technical skills and leadership capabilities
Partner directly with executive leadership to define product roadmaps, set priorities, and ensure timely execution of mobile initiatives
Develop and maintain the React Native runtime that integrates with Bubble’s backend systems
Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of the mobile development infrastructure
Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate best practices into the development process
