Who we are:
Kymera is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the field of targeted protein degradation (TPD) to develop medicines that address critical health problems and have the potential to dramatically improve patients’ lives. Kymera is deploying TPD to address disease targets and pathways inaccessible with conventional therapeutics. Having advanced the first degrader into the clinic for immunological diseases, Kymera is focused on building an industry-leading pipeline of oral small molecule degraders to provide a new generation of convenient, highly effective therapies for patients with these conditions. Founded in 2016, Kymera has been recognized as one of Boston’s top workplaces for the past several years. For more information about our science, pipeline and people, please visit www.kymeratx.com or follow us on X (formerly Twitter) or LinkedIn.
How we work:
PIONEER: We are courageous, resilient and rigorous in our mission to improve patients’ lives through our revolutionary degrader medicines.
COLLABORATE: We value trust + transparency from everyone. Our goals are shared, our decisions data-driven and our camaraderie genuine.
BELONG: We recognize our differences, inviting curiosity and inclusivity, so that our people are valued, seen, and heard.
Kymera Therapeutics is scaling rapidly, and we’re looking for a high-impact, deeply technical Senior Infrastructure Architect to drive the next evolution of our cloud, networking, and identity platforms. This is a senior IC role with broad architectural ownership, hands-on engineering responsibility, and influence across the entire technology stack.
If you enjoy building modern, automated, cloud-first infrastructure; partnering directly with engineering teams; and owning systems end-to-end in a high-autonomy environment, you’ll feel right at home here.
What You’ll Do
You will serve as the technical lead for infrastructure across AWS, identity, networking, and endpoint platforms—owning design, implementation, and continuous improvement.
Cloud, Compute & Data Infrastructure
Architect and build scalable, high-availability AWS environments that power R&D, scientific compute, analytics, and core business applications.
Design secure, performant pipelines for getting data from on-prem lab systems and scientific instruments into AWS with speed, reliability, and governance.
Support Linux-based compute workflows, HPC-style workloads, distributed pipelines, and containerized environments used by scientific engineering teams.
Automate everything you touch using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and modern orchestration.
Networking & Hybrid Connectivity
Own enterprise networking across routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, VPNs, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
Build resilient multi-path connectivity and dual-internet redundancy to keep scientific operations and business systems online.
Identity, Endpoint & Security Foundations
Evolve our Azure/Entra hybrid identity environment—including Conditional Access, authentication policies, lifecycle management, and directory sync.
Improve endpoint security and compliance through Intune policies, zero-trust principles, and scalable device management.
Partner tightly with InfoSec on cloud governance, IAM guardrails, data protection, and service-to-service authentication standards.
Collaboration & Engineering Partnership
Work side-by-side with R&D engineers, data scientists, and application teams to ensure infrastructure accelerates—not limits—their work.
Build observability into everything: CloudWatch, Grafana, telemetry pipelines, and predictive alerting.
Produce technical documentation, diagrams, and runbooks that engineers actually enjoy reading.
What We’re Looking For
Core Technical Background
5+ years hands-on experience in infrastructure, cloud architecture, systems engineering, or platform engineering roles.
Strong AWS experience (AWS Solutions Architect Associate required; Professional highly preferred).
Deep knowledge of AWS compute, networking, security/IAM, cost optimization, and operational tooling.
Solid networking fundamentals: routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, hybrid cloud networking, and SD-WAN.
Comfort supporting Linux compute environments, distributed workloads, and automated pipelines.
Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Bash, or similar).
Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
Identity & Endpoint
Working knowledge of Azure AD / Entra ID hybrid identity, Conditional Access, modern authentication, and directory sync.
Experience with Intune-based device management is a strong plus.
Ways of Working
Ability to collaborate directly with software engineers, scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong communication skills—you can explain complex infrastructure concepts clearly and concisely.
Experience in biotech or research environments is great, but not required if you’re excited about the domain.
