Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Architect
Role Summary: Lead architect for cloud, networking, identity, and endpoint platforms across AWS, Azure/Entra, and enterprise networking. Own design, implementation, and continuous improvement of scalable, secure, high‑availability infrastructure that powers R&D scientific compute, analytics, and core business applications.
Expectations: • Demonstrated ownership of end‑to‑end infrastructure systems in a high‑autonomy environment. • Strong collaboration with R&D engineers, data scientists, and application teams. • Clear communication of complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. • Commitment to automated, IaC‑driven delivery and observability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and build AWS environments for R&D, scientific compute, analytics, and core applications.
- Design and implement secure, high‑performance data pipelines from on‑prem lab systems to AWS.
- Support Linux‑based compute workflows, HPC, distributed pipelines, and containerized workloads.
- Automate infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, and modern orchestration tools.
- Own enterprise networking: routing, switching, firewalls, SD‑WAN, VPNs, hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Build resilient multi‑path and dual‑internet redundancy for scientific and business systems.
- Evolve Azure/Entra hybrid identity: Conditional Access, authentication policies, lifecycle management, directory sync.
- Enhance endpoint security and compliance via Intune, zero‑trust principles, and device management.
- Partner with InfoSec on cloud governance, IAM guardrails, data protection, and service‑to‑service authentication.
- Integrate observability (CloudWatch, Grafana, telemetry pipelines, predictive alerting) into all infrastructure.
- Produce technical documentation, diagrams, and runbooks that are developer‑friendly.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years in infrastructure, cloud architecture, systems engineering, or platform engineering.
- Deep expertise in AWS compute, networking, security/IAM, cost optimization, operational tooling.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate (required) and Professional (preferred).
- Solid networking fundamentals: routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, hybrid cloud, SD‑WAN.
- Experience supporting Linux compute environments, distributed workloads, automated pipelines.
- Proficiency in scripting/automation: Python, Bash, or equivalent.
- Hands‑on use of Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Working knowledge of Azure AD/Entra ID hybrid identity, Conditional Access, modern authentication, directory sync.
- Experience with Intune device management (strong plus).
- Strong collaborative mindset and clear communication across cross‑functional teams.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate (mandatory).
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional (preferred).
- Azure AD Fundamentals or Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (preferred).
