Position Summary

Austin, Texas, Hybrid

As an DevOps Engineer, Applications Deployments for the Identity and Biometric Solutions team, you will be part of the team delivering tailor made solutions to state and local government agencies to issue official documents such as Driver’s Licenses and Identification Cards.

The role will require strong technical skills and the successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and integrating applications and systems utilizing technologies including AWS, application servers, containers, Kubernetes, Databases and securing the communication.

The role will require the ability to troubleshoot integration issues, analyze problems on your own, and work collaboratively in a group environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of AWS environment, and be comfortable with automation, writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, GitLab, PowerShell, and Python.

Regulatory Compliance Requirements

Must have U.S. Citizenship in order to obtain the post-hire Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Clearance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and must be able to obtain post-hire clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investments in the U.S. (CFIUS) and Department of Justice.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Manage multiple projects and work closely with the technical leader and the project team to meet the strict deadlines and expected level of quality.
Document and analyze current processes for improvement; as well as recommend and create automated processes to drive consistency.
Responsible for creating and maintaining scripts and automation for configuration and deployment. This will be a highly important aspect of the position.
Setup, configure and integrate different environments - Test, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production by working alongside a team of architects and software engineers.
Collaborate with software developers to perform product customization and configure the systems to satisfy customer’s needs, and coordinate with IT, DBA, and other teams during system deployment.
Document the design specifications, installation procedures, and other system related information.
Set up and configure the systems in Windows and/or Linux environment.
Report progress against deadlines as requested by management.
Provide system knowledge transfer and training to technical support team.
Participate in Level 3 support for our deployed solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

5 years working in Cloud Architecture and implementation including Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Building and developing scalable CICD strategies using tools like Gitlab
3 years of hands on experience with Kubernetes administration (EKS)
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex software and infrastructure issues
Capable of multi-tasking and addressing several topics concurrently
Proven willingness to adapt to new technologies
Excellent Team player with proven ability to accomplish goals through collaboration
Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity leveraging problem solving skills and a willingness to learn with only high-level direction
Prior experience of clearly communicating technical information and concepts to different audiences in a variety of formats

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Software validation, integration, and data migrations
Hands on experience with scripting languages such as Python or Linux Shell
Ability and expertise in writing and executing SQL statements
Application and infrastructure monitoring using Datadog
Project management skills

Special Position Requirements

Travel: Travel to the customer site and interact with our customers during project implementation when needed. We anticipate up to 25% of the time domestically during the specification and integration phases and for workshops.
