In This Role

In this role, you will act as a strategic Data Scientist focused on player experience and support insights. You will partner closely with Player Care, data engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to analyze player support interactions, identify friction points, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Your work will directly influence operational decisions, business metrics, and player experience improvements. You will also support analysis related to other out-of-game player touchpoints, ensuring insights connect back to in-game outcomes. Success in this role requires comfort working with large, messy datasets, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to clearly communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

Partner with Player Care and data engineering teams to transform support and engagement data into actionable insights
Analyze player support interactions to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities to improve player experience
Develop and communicate data-driven recommendations that inform business and operational decisions
Evaluate the impact of programs and initiatives by tying out-of-game activities to in-game performance metrics
Collaborate with other data scientists to integrate player care findings into broader analytics and reporting efforts
Support analytics requests from Marketing and Consumer Products teams, including ROI analysis of out-of-game initiatives
Maintain and enhance dashboards in Power BI to enable stakeholder self-service and business understanding
Work with complex, high-volume, and high-dimensional datasets from multiple sources
Independently drive ambiguous projects involving incomplete or imperfect data
Clearly present insights through written summaries, visualizations, and stakeholder discussions

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in data analytics or data science roles
Strong experience performing analytical work and translating insights into business recommendations
Hands-on experience with SQL for data analysis
Experience with data modeling and statistical analysis
Proficiency in Python for data analysis
Experience building and maintaining dashboards using data visualization tools
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously on open-ended problems
Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Must be able to commit to a minimum of 18 months in the role

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with large-scale data platforms such as SparkSQL, Databricks, or similar technologies
Familiarity with PySpark or distributed data processing frameworks
Advanced experience with Power BI or similar enterprise reporting tools
Background in machine learning or predictive modeling
Experience analyzing customer support, player experience, or consumer interaction data
Interest in games or prior experience working within the gaming or entertainment industry
Ability to work onsite or locally within the Seattle area
