Job Title: Senior Penetration Tester

Location: McLean | Richmond, Virginia, United States

Type: Full Time

Our client is seeking for a Senior Penetration Tester professional to lead hands‑on penetration testing efforts across applications, APIs, cloud platforms, and network environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys uncovering vulnerabilities, partnering with engineering teams, and elevating security standards across an organization.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct penetration testing across APIs, web applications, networks, cloud services, and supporting infrastructure.
Evaluate development practices and contribute to improving internal security standards and processes.
Support triage, testing, and validation of vulnerability disclosures and newly discovered security issues.
Collaborate with development teams to strengthen secure coding practices and integrate security into the SDLC.
Present findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Work closely with stakeholders to drive timely remediation and influence prioritization of security initiatives.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with security, engineering, and technology teams across the organization.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT
3+ years of hands‑on penetration testing experience
1+ year of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of experience in security testing (pen testing, red teaming, cloud/app/network security)
Strong understanding of threat modeling frameworks (CVSS, MITRE ATT&CK, DREAD, STRIDE)
Experience with IoT, mobile application testing, or secure code review
Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Golang, or C#
