Job Specifications

Role Overview

We need a strong, hands‑on Integration Developer with extensive experience to join a leading UK University. You will be designing, building, and supporting cloud‑based serverless integrations, ideally in AWS. The individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining integrations between key internal systems and external platforms, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable data flows.

Key Technical Requirements

Expertise in AWS serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch).
Strong programming skills in TypeScript (Node.js), with some Python beneficial.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly AWS CDK or Terraform.
Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git‑based workflows, and observability/monitoring tooling.
Experience with distributed systems, event‑driven architecture, and troubleshooting asynchronous workflows.

Additional Useful Experience

Exposure to Azure services. (optional and a bonus)
Integration experience within Higher Education systems (e.g., Tribal SITS, Moodle, Salesforce) is advantageous but not essential.
Familiarity with security frameworks such as Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, or PCI DSS.

Soft Skills & Ways of Working

Able to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with product owners, analysts, and developers.
Comfortable participating in agile ceremonies and using Jira (Kanban boards) to manage workload.
Strong communicator capable of supporting incident resolution and producing clear documentation.
