Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data management sector, is seeking a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 1 - Nightshift to join their dedicated team. This is an entry-level Data Center Technician role supporting data center operations and decommissioning activities. The work is very hands-on and process-driven, focused on removing, labeling, and staging network and power cables, assisting with hardware startup/shutdown, and completing physical asset audits.
Job Title: Data Center Technician - Technical IT 1 - Nightshift
Location: Boydton, VA
Pay Range: $24/hr - $28/hr
What's the Job?
Monitor and respond to equipment failure or performance errors within the data center environment
Assist in decommissioning network cables and hardware following established procedures
Prepare, stage, and perform basic startup and shutdown procedures for hardware components
Conduct physical audits of data center assets to ensure inventory accuracy
Follow safety protocols and utilize PPE to maintain a secure working environment
What's Needed?
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and related components
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
