Software Engineering Intern - Immediate Need
Status: Full Time. Non-exempt, temporary
Location: Moriarty, NM

Who Are We:
Sceye a high-growth technology company, building the next generation of instant communications, imaging and remote sensing infrastructure through stratospheric platforms.
Our lighter-than-air high-altitude platform systems (LTA HAPS) are capable of maintaining position over an operational area in the stratosphere (altitudes of 18 – 21km). They can carry multiple telecommunications, imaging and remote sensing payloads, providing unique functionality, cost, environmental and societal advantages.
Our HAPS be deployed in a matter of days and at a fraction of the cost of traditional infrastructure solutions. This makes them an ideal solution for providing telecommunications connectivity, emergency solutions in the event of natural or other disasters, environmental and infrastructure monitoring, Earth observation and a range of defense applications.
Our customers & partners include some of the largest global telecommunications companies, infrastructure operators, climate researchers, civil and defense agencies.

Position Summary:
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute directly to the software that controls our HAPS vehicles and helps us plan and execute diverse missions across the world. Project areas could include Avionics, Ground Systems, and/or Simulation software, and will involve collaborating with our multi-disciplinary team. Expect to gain experience with new technologies, software design, and going from a prototype to an impactful project in a short amount of time!
What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with at least one general purpose programming language such as Python, C, C++, JavaScript, etc.
Enthusiasm for learning new programming languages and software engineering skills.
Enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree for Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other related STEM fields.
Able to work on-site in Moriarty, NM for 40 hrs/week during 12 week period.
Desirable Qualifications:
Demonstrable software engineering skills through open source software, personal projects, or prior employment.
Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects.
Understanding of low-level/systems programming languages and concepts.
Experience with designing and developing GUI applications and iterating on user feedback.
Experience with Git.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Curiosity, drive, and a willingness to learn.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work on-site in Moriarty, NM or in Roswell, NM.
