Position Title: IT Support & Operations Engineer - Level II
Location: South San Francisco – 5x per week onsite
Requested Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months (extension possible)
Compensation: $42-50/HR

A public, clinical‑stage biotechnology company in South San Francisco is seeking an IT Support & Operations Engineer (Level II) to support their internal IT environment during a period of rapid scaling. The company recently went public and is expanding its IT capabilities after transitioning away from an MSP, resulting in a backlog of tickets that need immediate attention.
This is an onsite role supporting a mixed Mac and Windows environment, as well as a modern SaaS-heavy tech stack used across office and lab teams.
Responsibilities
Manage and resolve IT support tickets in Jira
Provide onsite support for MacOS and Windows systems
Administer and troubleshoot: O365, Okta, Intune, Ninja, Addigy, Slack, Zoom
Deliver white‑glove support to end users across office and lab spaces
Partner with other IT team members (Helpdesk and Infrastructure)
Assist with operational cleanup and process improvements following MSP cutover
Support system maintenance, documentation, endpoint management, and escalations
Required Qualifications
5+ years of IT support experience
Strong experience supporting both MacOS and Windows
ITIL knowledge or exposure
Strong proficiency with O365
Experience using Jira
Hands-on experience with Okta, Zoom, Intune, Ninja, Addigy
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
Experience supporting lab environments
