Role Overview
The Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will lead complex analysis and requirements activities for enterprise payment systems. This role will collaborate closely with technology partners, business stakeholders, and external vendors to define, document, and validate business and technical requirements across multiple initiatives. The BSA will support payment integrations (Visa, SWIFT, FED), data analysis, large-scale system enhancements, workflow design, project planning support, and end‑to‑end system optimization.
This position requires deep expertise in the Payments domain, including ISO20022 standards, payment flows, data mapping, and transaction data analysis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, problem‑solving abilities, and leadership across cross‑functional Agile teams.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Technical Analysis
Understand new business requirements and conduct in‑depth business and technical analysis.
Prepare data mappings, technical requirements, process flows, and support testing activities.
Analyze payment transactional data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and zero business/technical data leakage.
Develop deep knowledge of payment applications, system interdependencies, and architecture.
Interpret, document, and translate complex user requirements into actionable technical specifications.
Contribute to project planning (project charter, deliverables, estimates, scope, timelines).
Payments Domain Expertise
Apply expert knowledge in Visa Integration, SWIFT, FED, ISO20022 messaging standards, and payment operational flows.
Understand end‑to‑end payment journeys and transactional validation.
Recommend improvements for payment processing efficiency and risk mitigation.
Requirements Documentation & User Experience
Create detailed use cases, SRS documents, workflow diagrams, and UML‑based design documents.
Define user procedures and workflows based on multi‑user interactions.
Facilitate backlog grooming, define acceptance criteria, and author clear user stories.
Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
Liaise with business partners, technology teams, and external vendors to drive requirements clarity.
Prioritize requirements and change requests in collaboration with Project Managers/Scrum Masters.
Participate in risk identification and create mitigation plans.
Support system implementation planning with architecture, change management, and infrastructure teams.
Testing, Validation & Implementation Support
Perform application testing (functional, integration, data validation).
Conduct pre‑ and post‑implementation reviews to ensure solutions meet business needs.
Support production readiness and business continuity planning.
Data Analysis & Process Improvement
Analyze and manipulate large datasets using SQL (Microsoft SQL Server).
Identify process improvements and ensure adherence to process controls.
Understand system design, data interdependencies, and opportunities for reusability.
Tools & Documentation
Work extensively with JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, and other BSA productivity tools.
Ensure comprehensive documentation for audit, compliance, and knowledge transfer.
Essential Skills
Strong SQL skills (Microsoft SQL Server 2019).
Deep knowledge of Visa payment integrations.
Expertise in SWIFT, FED, and Commercial Payments.
Understanding of ISO20022 messaging standards.
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
Desirable Skills
8+ years as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA), not just BA.
Experience in Contact Center, Workforce Management, or reporting initiatives.
Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
Experience in system investigations, analysis, and estimation in large integrated environments.
Ability to prioritize requirements and manage change control effectively.
Ability to work closely with architects, POs, and technical leaders.
Familiarity with Agile processes and ceremonies.
Experience Required
8–10 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with strong Payment Systems and technical analysis expertise.
